Awkwafina An American performer and actress, started by releasing a humorous rap track which dealt with the subject of sexual and race. Her career expanded to Hollywood when she dropped an album of raps. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese as well as Korean parents from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was her first instrument. In the following years, she took up traditional and hip-hop training. When she was in high her schooling, she specialized in the field of journalism as well as women's studies. She also studied Mandarin for a while in Beijing. After graduation, her focus shift to music. The track My Vag which was her response to the Mickey Avalon song My Dick, became a viral hit on the Internet and was later featured on her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also included viral hits such as the body-positive Queef or winking hometown tour New York Bitche$. The second track linked into Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide published in the year 2015, and was a different initiative. With musician and author on her resume she set her sights on acting in a third project. Alongside early TV shows like Girl Code and Tawk she appeared in films such as Neighbors 2, Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018 she was able to land her first major role in a number of high-profile films like Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
