Anamaria Marinca is an Romanian actress. She made her screen debut in Sex Traffic, a Channel 4 film Sex Traffic and was the recipient of the British Academy Television Award for Best Actress. She is fluent in French, German English, and Romanian. Her mother was a violinist and her father is the theater professor at one of the top drama schools in Romania. The award was presented to her as the Best Female Actor of the Year in 2000 Award at the young Actor Gala Mangalia. In 2008, the European Film Promotion Board named her an European Shooting Star in 2008. She was an actress from Romania in Romanian actress in Cristian Mungiu's film 4 months 3 weeks and Two days, 4 months (four months three weeks and 2 days) in which she was honored with the Palme d'Or and other prizes during the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. In addition, she appeared in the film by Francis Ford Coppola Youth Without Youth. She was Yasim Awar on BBC's five-episode The Last Enemy miniseries. Marinca appeared in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. Later, she had a major role in 2014's Fury in which she played Irma who was the German mother of Emma.
